Weather Report #59: the US AI 'kill chain' and a decade of PROMESA
Consuming 09/20/2026
Welcome to your Weather Report, a (sometimes) weekly column where I recommend a plethora of media – like good journalism, books, movies, and music – for readers to consume.
Here's what you're getting this week:
- Come watch the mini-documentaries I worked on for 9 Millones in person (Puerto Rico only);
- Essays, articles, and columns about: the US decision to bomb an Iranian school and ten years of Puerto Rico's fiscal control board;
- A comedy show that examines the small curiosities of daily life that quickly goes off the rails into absurdity;
- Three songs to drive around at midnight to while thinking of days gone by.

What I Did This Week:

If you are in Puerto Rico and want to see three mini-documentaries about our migrant communities, friends of the newsletter 9 Millones, are hosting three showings of their series Una Misma Tierra throughout the archipelago from October to November. I was a co-director for these documentaries and – if you'll allow me to toot my own horn – they're fantastic.
The first showing is on October 4 in Arroyo's Teatro Renacimiento.
