Good morning, dear reader! Welcome to your Weather Report, a weekly column where I recommend a book, a movie, some possibly underlooked articles, and music for paying subscribers.

I've shifted the order of things around past the paywall a little bit to see if I like it more. Let me know what you think. Here's what you're getting this week:

  1. On breaking news about a climate lawsuit and a TikTok.
  2. Essays, articles, and columns about: Charlie Kirk, his shooter's memebrain, Jeffrey Epstein, ICE killing a man in Chicago, and Israeli génocidaires and American biker gangs in Gaza.
  3. A beautifully drawn alternate history of the Soviet-Afghan War about the cyclical violence brought about by imperialism.
  4. A military mystery thriller that shows the meaninglessness of nation's borders when it comes to bonds people can form between one another.
  5. Three punk-ish songs I listened to and liked this week.

What I Did This Week:

I want to very quickly plug that subscribers to this newsletter were some of the first people in the world to know that a federal judge dismissed the first-ever class-action climate RICO lawsuit against the fossil fuel industry because I seemingly broke the story in this post before any big media outlet. None of them have linked back to Heavy Weather, though. Alas, so it goes. You can read that story below:

Judge Dismisses Puerto Rico Municipalities Climate RICO Lawsuit Against the Fossil Fuel Industry
A federal judge just dismissed 37 Puerto Rican municipalities’ claims against the fossil fuel industry.

And if you want a simple breakdown of the case (in Spanish), you can find it here:

Desestiman demanda de clase federal por 37 municipios en contra de compañías de combustibles fósiles. Una demandan similar fue desestimada voluntariamente por el gobierno de Puerto Rico más temprano en el año. #greenscreen #news #noticias #puertorico #demanda
